TonCut Engine is used for cutting optimization of flat (2D) and linear (1D) materials such as glass, wood, panels, stone, sheet metal, aluminum, fabrics, plexiglass, cardboard, pipes, beams, and many more. It supports both simple rectangular formats and elements with irregular shapes.
TonCut Engine is used for cutting optimization of 1D and 2D materials. The program also allows advanced true shape nesting. However, it does not feature a user interface. Data for optimization is delivered to it in JSON format. The results are also generated in this format.
The program can be used in batch mode or as a Websocket server. Thanks to the simple and clear data format, it can be easily integrated with other systems. In server mode, a very simple API expands integration possibilities.
TonCut Engine can be run as a Windows service. In this case, you can connect to it via Websocket (ws) or Websocket Secure (wss) protocol.
The program can also be launched from the command line as a batch tool. In this case, input data is provided to the program via files or standard input. The results can be written to standard output or to a file.
The program is much faster than a human. On average, it is able to check 10 million combinations within 1 minute.
Thanks to the use of unique optimization solutions, the program is able to arrange the pieces to best meet the optimization criterion.
Cutting optimization is not only about saving material and time, but also about minimizing the number of human errors.
With an easy-to-use API, clear documentation, numerous examples, and our support, integration becomes very simple.
We continuously improve our software to make it faster, more efficient, and better aligned with user needs.

Since 1997 (when the Super Glazier - TonCut’s predecessor - was created), six basic algorithms for improved cutting optimization, two global optimization algorithms, AI and three strategies for input material selection have been added. In addition, we have expanded our range of algorithms to include 1D optimization with angles, nesting of irregular shapes, and cost-based optimization.
Depending on the user's requirements and needs, any combination of these algorithms and strategies can be used to obtain the most optimal result.
Thanks to user feedback, over the years we have developed configuration options that meet the needs of all our software users.
Thanks to AI, the program can select appropriate optimization methods on its own, for as good results as possible.
You can use the default configuration, which is good enough for most applications. For specific requirements, you can also create your own configurations.
TonCut can optimize by multiple search profiles simultaneously. This allows situations where the first cuttings are filled in 99% and the rest contain a lot of waste to be avoided.
The flexibility of the program’s configuration allows you to set up any operating mode, whether you need continuous optimization or prefer to plan production in advance.
You can use the default search profiles or create your own.
